I was awakened by the trash collectors banging and tossing the cans around the yard at 6:45 AM...
Still exhausted, I jumped out of bed, turned on the news to more discussions of the weekend's terrorist bombings in NYC and Seaside, NJ, and stabbings at a Minnesota Mall, interrupted by the negative commercials of our "Presidential" candidates!
I called on a medical bill that arrived the day before with "the full amount is due, because you have no insurance". After a proverbial "dial around" I got an agent that realized that their computer records or me, were inaccurate, and that they would submit a claim to my carrier.
Could this be the third day that the water pressure cleaner didn't show to clean the driveway, walks and outdoor furniture before the Holidays?
Mom needed some replacement feminine products from CVS.. As I had purchased the wrong type the last time, I took an old package to look for the right type. When I went to their store section I discovered that CVS had "new" packaging, to sell less for more, and the employee didn't have any idea of where to find them. I also had to purchase some liquid soap to fill the dispensers, but when I couldn't find it, I had remembered hearing a news spot discussing how liquid soap didn't really sanitize so that stores would curtail selling it.
I headed to LA Fitness to attempt a stress-reducing workout, and the facility was filthy! The employee couldn't keep up with the sloppiness of the members! After two power "brownouts" , I left!
I needed to pick up a few food items from the adjacent Costco. As it was now mid-day when people could shop, there were only two check-out tellers that weren't "on break", and combined with the three open self-checkouts, the lines were about ten-deep!
Attempting to pull out of the parking lot, the Northlake traffic was backed up and nearly stopped with one of the many daily accidents blocking the intersection...I felt sorry for the involved drivers (even though at least one of them was probably "texting" while driving!)
As I got near home the nearest intersection had the traffic signal broken again, and I arrived home to find that a power surge or squirrel crawling into another transformer had apparently knocked out the electricity that resulting in having to reset the three TV boxes and five , clocks...traffic lights.
I got the day's mail. It resulted in one hour on "dial-arounds" and holds, tansmitted from department to another with AT&T, to attempt to rectify yet another month of inaccurate billing. I had been expecting a check in the mail, from a customer that had sent it some time before. So I looked in the neighbor's unoccupied home mailbox to find, many of my envelopes, including an expected prescription "stuffed in it", by one or more of the daily-changing route mail deliverers, a number of them that have difficulty reading!
The subcontractor did not show up again to install Mom's condo hurricane-impact windows again and the weather was calling for an approaching storm....
And wow, it's only 2 pm, and I'm "relaxed" and ready to start a billable work day!!! Will my home and work computers have a virus-induced "melt-down"?
